I guess that’s why it is a journey.. I know one thing about myself though, I don’t back down, that’s why I don’t like to start something big without the intention to finish it or at least reach a result that I am satisfied with.

I’m still here and still going on, like always there will be sweet days and rough ones and I’m willing to go through them. I may not get to my goals fast or swift but I will get there or remain on the way.. always..

The following is a sort of affirmation to myself, a preaching of sort, I share it here in hopes that it will motivate some people as it motivated me:

Nothing makes me feel greater than seeing more and more friends, family members or even pure strangers starting their own journey to change some old habits that hold them back and transform themselves into better people.

We sometimes feel ashamed of how we look, act or talk and end up shutting ourselves instead of looking for the roots of our problem, when I was obese I used to avoid going to the beach for instance or participate in any physical activity that requires a good amount of endurance to carry out, close friends were very careful not to bring my weight problem (which I am very aware of!) to my attention in order not to hurt my feelings. I used to blame everything for how I was, things like:

my genetics

slow metabolism

my family eating habits

local weather

lack of interesting sports

lack of healthy foods

amount of restaurants in the country

lack of time

lack of energy

So I basically blamed every darn thing but myself, I refused to take responsibility, like many I looked for “Short cuts“, the “Magic pills” or that great “Fat Burning Cream” … I am mentioning this for two reasons mainly:

A. To state that we have to go through those stages to evolve as human beings. To accept reality you have to verify it, and what better way to do so than to check every other possibility? if you been there and done that then don’t be ashamed, many have done so before you and many will follow, its how we learn!

B. For anyone who reads this post feeling bad that they feel stuck in the middle of no where, the lesson life teach us is that: “Everything has a price, those who want things bad enough to work hard for it get it, those who seek shortcuts would most likely get a headache!”.

When you get a pain in your stomach the first thing you’d think is: What is wrong? you would like the pain to stop but also would know what caused it and treat it. stopping the pain alone is just treating the symptoms, soon enough it would return as soon as the pain killer fades. Overweight is mostly the result of bad eating habits and low level of exercise (not counting people who have glandular problems who are extremely few), we treat our bodies real bad for so long and then wake up someday wondering what went wrong? whats funny is that we want to fix the damage we caused in 3 years in 2 weeks! See how ridicules this is? I know many people wouldn’t like to read this or find it quite depressing, I beg to differ! Knowing that things take time to be accomplished should eliminate the common false belief that people can get slim within few weeks, which is NOT TRUE!

People can lose weight fast, notice the term weight not fat was used here, losing weight is easy! Losing water can cause you to lose weight and so does muscle mass but do you really want to lose that kind of weight?

The bottom line is: Be patient, and don’t rush results, there is no hurry! You took 9 months to be created and born, what would other 9 months to re-transform your whole body be? This is a journey not meant for the weak of spirit, its for those who wish to forge themselves, those who only fail when they quit trying. Educate yourself on healthy eating and invest some of your precious time to exercise, and if you don’t know how or why, just ask! your body deserves that much, it can and WILL change your life! take it from someone who is not asking for your money to buy his miracle potion or diet book, just a man who have been there.

Be strong, mentally and physically and pursue your goal with all you got and you shall be amazed!

Last night’s progress:

I did my 45 mins of cardio and ate my 5 meals, I also did some back training to try and get my back into shape quicker!
