Yes, You need a Nike + Shoes however, I have seen some sites selling pouches that you can attach to a regular sneaker's laces and still be able to use it, in my case I have a Nike + shoe.

Thanks Bashar, I've gotten mine from the states while I was on vacation, I bought it along with a Nike + shoes. The sensor and receiver package is quite small so even if you order it via amazon it should not cost too much to ship.

Thank you for your kind words.
I couldn't agree more, It all boils down to self esteem, we are truly our own worst critics and I've known this for a good while now.
The Journey for a better body is meant to transform me from a passive human being into an active one, one who takes things into his own hands instead of just sitting down and blaming everything on the world. As an introvert I've always felt flawed or deemed not fit enough to be more social, I found that by proving to myself that I can accomplish a "not-so-easy" task concerning own self development I would gain better confidence in myself , that is the reason why I started this journey.
Think of it as me building my own vessel to sail out and explore other possibilities that I've always labeled as unreachable. It id indeed "all about self love", as in my case that has to be earned.
As I work hard day by day towards my goal I gain more self respect and more discipline, I have indeed gained courage and dedication to write every day about my triumphs and failures and still hold my head high and last but not least I have gotten the chance to truly transform both mentally and physically hopefully for the best!

Hello Ali...I just bumped into your blog and I felt like sharing few thoughts. Just like you, weight has been always an issue in my life. I think I've been on diets my whole life. I tried all sorts of diets (the protein diet, the chemical diet, the celery soup diet, the Hollywood diet, you name it!!) and did they work? yes! I managed to loose more than 15 kg on different occasions, but always put them back (with some bonus!). After30 years of pain, ups and downs with my weight issues, I learnt the hard way that it is not about diet. It is simply about self-love. I now believe that when we truly love ourselves, accept ourselves just the way we are, and honour our bodies, then being healthy and fit is inevitable. When we treat ourselves with love, we will crave for healthy food that does not harm our bodies. To love ourselves also means we don't follow harsh diets that make us feel depressed and deprived. Such diets can not be maintained for a life time. As for exercising, I believe the best type is the one we truly enjoy and doesn't feel like homework. It is just as you described it brother, a journey. but as you go further down the road, you will realise that the journey wasn't really about loosing weight, it is a journey about discovering who you are and getting to know your true self...a journey of love.

You're right MOD. If I don't allow my body to rest I would be wasting my time and burning myself out.. rest days indeed are as vital as training days..
After all your muscles build during the rest time, not the training time.
